Ellen Doherty, Special Education Teacher at RES
Ellen received funds to purchase Sensory Items Upkeep. This project focuses on the upkeep and repair of sensory room items as well as a sensory in Ms. Doherty's classroom, the "tumble track." This greatly benefits students with ADD, ADHD, Autism, and emotional regulation. This project focuses on proprioceptive input for students through sensory stimulus.
Michael Berenkowski, OHS Photography
Michael added equipment to the photography class, The are Lighting the Way to Creative Excellence. The purpose of this project is to create better lighting for school events that photography students have volunteered photoshoot. The photography class has branched out into portraits for school functions. The students have photographed an elementary dance, a middle school dance, a high school homecoming dance and prom. Their goals are: Enhance Technical Skills, Encourage Collaboration, and Promote Artistic Expression. The photographers have branched out through volunteering their time in photographing school events.
Jamie Forbes, RES 6th Grade at RES
Jamie Forbes added Edison Robotics for STEM Engagement for her 6th graders. The proposed project is to integrate Edison robots into the 6th grade STEM classroom and provide students with an engaging, hands-on introduction to coding, robotics and problem solving. For students. this project creates an interactive and critical thinking skills.
